Following an introduction on the history of Amsterdam, you will cycle through the city centre. Highlights include wooden drawbridges, houseboats and bicycle-filled streets (and canals); Museumplein with the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, Dam Square with the Royal Palace and war monument; and the Red Light District, including the Oudekerk (‘Old Church’) and Nieuwmarkt.
Your Mike’s Bike Tours guide will give you a run-down on coffeeshops and point out some night clubs and venues. You will also cycle through the famous Vondelpark where, weather-permitting, you can take a moment to chill out on the grass or toss around a Frisbee. After the park, you will cycle along the canal belt, past the Ann Frank House and into the Jordaan district (former working class area of town).
