The Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam has an authoritative archaeological collection of original works of art and utensils from Egypt, Etruria, the Greek and Roman world, the Near East and Cyprus from the period between 4000 and 1000 after Christ.

Rich collections
Holding one of the world's richest collections of archaeological exhibits from the ancient world, the museum is aimed at scholars. Interesting items in the varied collection include a model of a Greek chariot and a full-sized sarcophagus. The Allard Pierson Museum has both permanent displays and temporary exhibitions.
