Science Center NEMO’s new exhibition area, the Innovation Gallery, can now also be rented for events. The current exhibition shows technological innovations in the field of electric transport from the past (an electric bicycle from 1933 for example). Additionally it provides a glimpse into a sustainable future with electric cars, smart grids and private sustainable energy generation. Drinks can be served and other informal gatherings with up to 175 guests can be hosted at the science museum after closing hours.

Organisations with a focus on corporate social responsibility, transport and energy supply will find a highly inspirational setting for holding events here as well as in the other 5 rooms at NEMO. For example, the Dutch Green Building Society recently held the Sustainability Parade in NEMO.

NEMO, too, has ambitions to become increasingly sustainable. Recently, 1200 lamps above the exhibition floor were replaced by LED lighting, leading to a saving of 100,000 kWh or the equivalent of the annual energy consumption of almost 30 households. Two rooms have cradle-to-cradle carpeting and the boardroom will shortly be furnished with cradle-to-cradle chairs. NEMO has a preference for working with local suppliers and only UTZ certified coffee is served. Organic catering is of course possible as well. Moreover, by renting a room at NEMO, you indirectly contribute to a non-profit organisation in the museum sector.
