On occasion of the upcoming edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the City of Amsterdam, the Public Health Service of Amsterdam (GGD), Jellinek Prevention and the Public Prosecution Service (OM) are again increasing efforts to inform the public about regulations and risks connected to drug use. Even more than in previous years, the focus is on the many thousand ADE visitors that come from abroad. Experience has shown that foreign visitors are often ill-informed about the rules and regulations; in addition, they rarely know who to approach if they need medical help related to drug use.
The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), RAI Amsterdam and selected Amsterdam hotels are to continue their successful working partnership for at least another two years. On Wednesday August 17th IBC CEO Michael Crimp received in The College Hotel the contract for this long-term cooperation, which guarantees more than 59,000 overnight stays under the label I amsterdam approved. Given the importance of a dependable supply of high-quality accommodation, the cooperating parties have a pivotal role in the development of both IBC and the city of Amsterdam.
PRESS RELEASE - The biggest outdoor free-running and parkour track in the Netherlands was inaugurated on 11 July 2016 on the banks of the Sloterplas, a lake in Amsterdam’s Nieuw West district. The parkour track, to be managed by Amsterdam’s free-running community, was opened by Achmed Baâdoud (chairman of the Nieuw West district committee), Ronald Mauer (Nieuw West district committee member responsible for Sports and Sloterplas) and Frans van der Avert (Amsterdam Marketing CEO). The parkour and the physical link with ‘I amsterdam’, the motto of the city and its residents, fits in with Amsterdam’s desire to present itself as a modern city.
