In the Tropenmuseum you can take a trip through the world and through time. Thousands of stories, splendid works of art and amazing objects bring a wide variety of cultures to life. Discover a world of art and culture in one of the most beautiful historical buildings of Amsterdam.

Visitors to the Tropenmuseum can get to know the most beautiful, exciting and interesting stories from around the world. The beautiful and historic building in which the Tropenmuseum is housed provides space for eight permanent exhibitions and an ongoing series of temporary exhibitions, including both modern and traditional visual arts and photographic work. The permanent exhibitions are Southeast Asia, Oceania, India, Western Asia and North Africa, Africa, Latin America, and Man & Environment.

Daily: 10.00 - 17.00 hours; 5, 24 and 31 December: 10.00 - 15.00 hours; Closed: 1 January, 30 April, 5 May, 25 December.

18+ 7,50; children (6-17) 4,00; children (0-5) free; 65+ 6,-.
Other location details
Two wheelchairs available (please call ahead for reservation) and a special restroom. Tram/busstop in front of the building, the museum has it's own handicapped parking places. Doorwidth min. 90 cm., difference street/thresholdlevel max. 2 cm, there's a ramp at the entrance, automatic doors, halls accessible by lift. Assistent dog or guide dog allowed in.
