Oosterpark is the first great park constructed by the Amsterdam Municipality. The park is situated in the Oost/Watergraafsmeer district and is part of the Oosterpark area.

The design is from landscape architect Leonard Anthony Springer and was build in 1891 in an English landscape style.

In the park, there is an oscillating pond with a small island at its centre. There is also the National Monument of the History of Slavery, which commemorates the abolishment of slavery in the Netherlands and its colonies.
