Filmtheater de Uitkijk (Lookout) is the oldest arthouse theatre in the Netherlands. Set up by a group of dedicated cinephiles in 1929, it is located in the heart of Amsterdam on the Prinsengracht.
Renovations
This unique theatre has been renovated to be reminiscent of its original 1920s look. The theatre holds 86 comfortable seats, 24 of which are located on the romantic and cosy balcony with small tables and table lamps.
Special features
As well as various arthouse films, De Uitkijk also host feature nights such as Upload Cinema, which specialises in films from sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. It is also available to rent for private functions.
