You are eligible to vote in Amsterdam's City Council election if you:

  • were registered in the Amsterdam Municipal Personal Records Database (Basisregistratie Personen, BRP) on 3 February 2014
  • are a national of one of the EU member states
  • are 18 years of age or older on the day of polling
  • have not been excluded from the right to vote.

If you are not an EU citizen, to be eligible to vote in the City Council election, you must also have been:

  • registered as a resident of the Netherlands for an uninterrupted period of five years leading up to 3 February 2014
  • in possession of a valid residence permit for an uninterrupted period of five years leading up 3 February 2014.

You are eligible to vote in Amsterdam's District Committee election if you:

  • were registered in the Amsterdam Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP) on 3 February 2014
  • are a national of one of the EU member states
  • are 18 years of age or older on the day of polling
  • have not been excluded from the right to vote.

If you are not an EU citizen, to be eligible to vote in the District Committee election, you must also have been:

  • registered as a resident of the Netherlands for an uninterrupted period of three years leading up to 3 February 2014
  • in possession of a valid residence permit for an uninterrupted period of three years leading up to 3 February 2014
