English Breakfast Radio 
Amsterdam-based English Breakfast Radio delivers the latest local news, weather and what’s on guides – and some witty chatter thrown in for good measure. There are also regular interviews with a variety of guests, music, local giveaways and more. Tune in on 106.8 FM in Amsterdam, stream it online via the website or watch it unfold on the TV channel Salto A1. Each weekday morning between 07:00 and 09:00

Red Light Radio 
Red Light Radio is an online radio station broadcasting from a former prostitution window in Amsterdam’s red light district, presenting daily shows with both local and international DJs, musicians and radio-makers playing everything from catchy Afrobeat to obscure electronica.

Access and Access Magazine 
Access is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers and supporting the international community in the Netherlands. In addition to a website chock-full of useful information, Access also publish a quarterly e-zine with various features and information about courses and events as well as a range of guides with practical information.

Amsterdo 
The open-source platform Amsterdo features practical information for both visitors and locals, plus plenty of news, features, opinions and perspectives on the city and cultural event tips to boot.

DutchNews.nl 
DutchNews.nl offers a daily summary of Dutch news, plus commentary and features.

Expatica 
Expatica
 is a news and information source for expatriates living and/or working in the Netherlands or planning the big move. Alongside practical advice, Expatica features news, an event guide, online dating, job ads, property listings and classifieds.

IamExpat 
IamExpat is a community-driven, online media platform aiming at covering the local needs of all English-speaking internationals currently residing in the Netherlands. It has pages dedicated to housing, careers and education and also offers news, features and an event guide.

NL Times 
The NL Times regularly publishes Dutch news in English, with sections such as Crime, Politics, Business, Sports, Health, ‘Weird’ and Technology.

We are Public 
We are Public is a cultural membership programme with an extensive website where editors recommend various cultural highlights in Amsterdam (most of which are free or heavily discounted for members).

International New York Times 
Previously known as the International Herald Tribune, the International New York Times is the grey lady’s international edition and widely available throughout Amsterdam. 


Magazines

A-mag  
A-mag is Amsterdam’s city magazine. Created especially for international visitors and residents, it's packed full of insider tips for what to do and what to see in the city. The magazine is published six times a year and each issue highlights new cultural activities, parties, restaurants, shopping, excursions and more, ensuring you get the very most out of Amsterdam. A-mag also contains full agenda listings for music, theatre, clubbing, exhibitions, LGBT, festivals and family activities, as well as in-depth features on trends, city neighbourhoods and more.

Glamcult 

This Amsterdam-based arty English-language magazine features articles and interviews with fashion designers, artists, musicians, actors and photographers, aiming to look beyond the mainstream to impart an impression of what is going on at the frontlines of fashion, art, music, film and photography.

Foam Magazine 

Straddling the line between magazine and coffee-table gem, the international publication by Amsterdam photography museum Foam comes out three times a year, with each issue devoted to a specific theme and containing portfolios, graphic design, interviews and opinions by experts in the field of photography.

Subbacultcha 
Subbacultcha is an independent, Amsterdam-based music and art platform dedicated to emerging bands and artists. They organise gigs and exhibitions bolstered by a membership scheme that allows their members to attend events for free; they also publish a pocket-sized monthly English-language magazine with interviews, gig listings, record reviews and more.   

The Xpat Journal 
This quarterly magazine is directed at newcomers to the Netherlands as well as expats who have been living in the country for some time. It provides articles and interviews covering various topics of Dutch culture, plus legal and financial issues, international education, housing and health care, all seen from an expat perspective.


Bookstores

American Book Center 
The American Book Center stocks English-language fiction and non-fiction, magazines and merchandise and specialises in (niche) genres such as fashion, graphic design, music, science fiction and business. The shop also organises numerous readings, book signings, workshops and other events in its ABC Treehouse.

Athenaeum 
The Athenaeum focuses on academia, from politics, history and sociology to philosophy, literature and the classics, and as such offers a large selection of English-language books. It is frequented by students and intellectuals of all nationalities. The Athenaeum Nieuwscentrum next door has Amsterdam’s most lovingly selected magazine and newspaper assortment, offering international magazines on everything from opinion, politics, history, art, lifestyle, music, design, fashion and architecture.

The English Bookshop 
Situated in picturesque Jordaan, The English Bookshop is a small booklovers’ haven with a thoughtful collection and an active community, offering writing workshops, kids’ events and more.

Waterstones Amsterdam 
Originally from the UK, Waterstones is a popular chain of bookstores with a large selection of English books, games, magazines and gifts.
