Due to planned railway engineering work, train services between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Amsterdam railway stations will be disrupted on the weekend of 5 & 6 April 2014.
Travel via Sloterdijk Station
No train services will operate between the airport and stations Sloterdijk, Lelylaan, Zuid, Bijlmer ArenA and Duivendrecht during the weekend. As such, travel to and from Amsterdam Central Station via these routes is also severely disrupted.
Replacement bus services will run between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Sloterdijk Station. From there, travellers can continue their journey to Amsterdam Central Station by train (or elsewhere in the city by metro or tram). The engineering work is planned to start at 01:00 in the night of Friday, 4 April/Saturday, 5 April and normal service is expected to resume by 05:15 on Monday, 7 April.
Travellers are advised to expect additional journey time of between 15 and 30 minutes. Passengers should purchase the appropriate train ticket before beginning their journey (also valid for the replacement buses). At both the airport and Sloterdijk Station, directions to the replacement bus services will be clearly signposted and porters will be on hand between 09:00 and 23:00 to help carry luggage.
