International school expansion

Parents wanting to enrol their children at Amsterdam International Community School (AICS), the city’s only publically-funded international school, currently contend with long waiting lists due to an influx of expat families.

On 1 February 2017, the City of Amsterdam announced that it has been successful in finding a new site for the school on the A. J. Ernststraat 1179-1187 in Buitenveldert. Plans are underway to accommodate 1400 students when the new building is completed in 2021.
