Below you'll find all you need to know about refuse collection in the Zuid District of Amsterdam.
Bagged refuse can be deposited in the dark green or grey containers with underground storage or put out for collection on designated days.
In the Rivierenbuurt, Prinses Irenebuurt and Buitenveldert neighbourboods, bulky refuse is collected on designated days. These days are indicated on the grey containers in the districts. Put bulky refuse out on the pavement after 19:00 on the evening preceding collection and before 07:30 on the designated collection day ensuring the collection services can easily access the refuse. For bulky refuse larger than one cubic metre, call 14020 to arrange collection.
In all other neighbourhoods, call 14020 in advance to arrange collection of bulky refuse. Once you have arranged collection, put bulky refuse out on the street near the paving slab marked ‘huisvuil’ (household rubbish) before 07:30 on the arranged collection day. Ensure the collection services can easily access the refuse.
A number of neighbourhoods in the Zuid district of Amsterdam recently launched a plastic recycling programme. Glass and paper can be deposited for recycling in the dark green or grey containers.
