In most neighbourhoods, bagged refuse can be deposited in the dark green or grey containers with underground capacity. Household waste is collected in the following neighbourhoods/streets:
Bilderdijkstraat, between De Clercqstraat and Jacob van Lennepkade on Tuesday and Friday. Put rubbish out on the pavement after 06:00 on the day of collection.
Witteneiland and Nassaukade on Monday and Thursday. Put rubbish out on the pavement near where you see the text ‘Hier uw huisvuil’ (Place your household waste here) or near the blue poles after 21:00 the evening before collection.
Spaarndammerbuurt and Zeeheldenbuurt (excluding De Silodam and new housing on De Houtmankade) on Tuesday and Friday. Put rubbish out on the pavement near where you see the text ‘Hier uw huisvuil’ (Place your household waste here) or near the blue poles after 21:00 the evening before collection.
Either take bulky refuse to a collection point in Amsterdam, put it out for collection on the designated day or call (088) 202 0200 to arrange collection. Please note that arranging collection involves a fee. Collection days vary across Amsterdam West, check when bulky refuse is collected in your neighbourhood before putting it out.
