expatcenter partnership requirements

With newly simplified processes and applications, the Expatcenter aims to better meet the needs of international companies and their expatriate employees residing in Amsterdam and Amstelveen.

The Expatcenter, located at the WTC in Amsterdam’s Zuidas, provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ service for highly-skilled migrants arriving in Amsterdam and Amstelveen. The Expatcenter is a joint initiative of the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), along with the cities of Amsterdam and Amstelveen. With newly simplified processes and applications, the Expatcenter aims to better meet the needs of international companies and their expatriate employees.

Pilot private participation

Expatcenter's partnership selection criteria 

It is our aim to offer a full range of services for incoming expatriates. In order to do so, we feel it is necessary to closely collaborate with private partners providing such services in the expatriate market.

The Partnership Program will establish close co-operation with various private parties in the expat market. The membership will run until June 2010, and a membership fee will be charged.

We have chosen to work with companies in the following sectors:

  • Employment (coaching & training and recruitment)

  • Insurance

  • Tax (individual and corporate )

  • Legal (immigration & employment law)

  • Banking

  • Telecom

  • Internet

  • International schools

  • Childcare services

  • Language courses

  • Financial services

  • Expat media

  • Higher education

Membership details

Once accepted as a member of the Partnership Program, you will benefit from the exposure and advertising opportunities which are a part of the basic membership package. Members will also have the possibility of selecting additional add-on marketing services and tools from the Expatcenter.

Basic membership package includes

  • Company logo, description and contact details featured on sector-specific information sheets and flyers, which will be given to all expats visiting the Expatcenter

  • Link on the Expatcenter website and recognition as "Expatcenter Partner"

  • Flyers and marketing materials displayed at the Expatcenter

  • Company events listed in the future Expatcenter online event calendar

  • The right to refer to themselves as partner of the Expatcenter in company marketing and communication

Additional services include

  • Banner on the Expatcenter website (partners-only)

  • Banner in the (monthly) newsletter to HR-managers and expats

  • Advertorial (+/- 250 word) in newsletter

  • Speaking opportunity at Expatcenter events

  • Marketing materials in the Expatcenter welcome-bag that is given to all visiting expats

Criteria

Please find below the minimum criteria for participation in the partnership program. It is our intention to select five companies to be our preferred partners in each sector. The below criteria will enable us to make this selection.

Minimum criteria (applies to all sectors):

  • All company information must  be in English (website, flyers, forms, service, etc.)

  • Minimum one year work experience in the expat market

  • Co-operation with our client-monitoring project

  • Standard company procedure to handle customer/client complaints

  • Recent verifiable references from a minimum of two expat clients and two international companies

  • Core business is expat-focused

  • Member of sector’s professional association (where applicable)

Apart from the above criteria, companies must agree to the membership terms and conditions, which will be emailed to all applicants. 

Selection process

When the number of applicants complying with the above minimum criteria exceeds five per sector the following procedure will take place; each company will be given the opportunity to make a presentation to our selection panel. The panel will then select the five top-ranking companies per sector.

If your company meets the basic criteria, but is not selected as a partner, you are still entitled to a listing and link on the Expatcenter website.
