There are four official Expatcenters in the Netherlands. Each one is a government organisation that offers an accelerated procedure in arranging the residency and municipal registration of highly skilled migrants and their accompanying family members.
The Amsterdam Expatcenter officially opened in 2008 as the first of its kind. It is a joint initiative of the municipalities of Amsterdam, Amstelveen and the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (later joined by Almere and Haarlemmermeer).

Please note: There are commercial parties in the market who operate under the name Expatcenter. These companies are not official Expatcenters (even though they may call themselves one). They operate in a commercial manner (i.e. charge for their services, etc) and are not run by a government agency, nor are they affiliated with the City of Amsterdam or the Immigration and Naturalisation Services (IND). Therefore they are not able to directly offer the Expatcenter Procedure or other municipal services such as municipal registration or a BSN application (personal public service number).
Please contact us directly if you have any questions.
