The Nine Months Fair
From 22 to 26 February 2012, the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre will be transformed into a paradise for (prospective) parents. For years, the Nine Months Fair (Negenmaandenbeurs) has been welcoming parents from all walks of life as they look for baby-related inspiration.
Baby and parenting event
A one-stop shop for everything parent and baby, the Nine Months Fair has a host of activities on the cards. More than 175 companies will be on hand to display the latest and greatest baby and parenting products.
Multiple fashion shows will be organised every day, innovative products will be introduced and there will also be workshops, as well as presentations and lectures.
Themes of the fair
Themed squares can be found throughout the fair, each aimed at a different part of baby lifestyle. For example, prospective parents with questions about what’s in store can head to the ‘Knowledge Square’ to consult with experts. The ‘Styling Square’ and ‘Baby Bedroom Inspiration Zone’ pretty much do what they say on the tin.
Baby Innovation Awards
A new addition to the Nine Months Fair in 2011 was the Baby Innovation Awards – the Oscars of the baby field. These are set to return for 2012, as a professional jury examine 40 innovative baby and toddler products launched on the Dutch market this year, highlighting their favourites. Visitors to the Nine Month Fair site (Dutch) also have the chance to vote for their favourite in the people's awards.
Winners will be announced at the fair and, of course, all of the nominated products will be on display.
Times and tickets
The fair at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre is open from 11:00 to 18:00, although it stays open until 22:00 on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 February 2012.
Tickets cost 18 euros on the day (10 euros for an evening ticket with entry after 18:00), 5 euros for children up to 12 years old and children under five get in for free. Tickets are available in advance at Prénatal stores and on the Nine Months Fair site (Dutch). Online and advance ticket discounts are also available.
Tickets to the Nine Months Fair also grant visitors access to the Homemaker’s Fair on the same day.
