Anti-discrimination campaign in Amsterdam

A new anti-discrimination campaign by the City of Amsterdam was launched on 11 January 2011.

Discrimination. Amsterdam is done with it!

Discrimination affects us all

Discrimintatie. Amsterdam is er klaar me” is the campaign slogan.

Discrimination affects us all and directly affects our freedom. The freedom to be who we are, freedom of movement, freedom of speech, freedom of belief and religion. Freedom is a precious thing that we must not let slip away.

Poster campaign

To help start a dialogue and to make a clear stand against discrimination, the City of Amsterdam has initiated a massive poster campaign across the city, a dedicated website and Twitter hash tag, #discriminatieamsterdam.

Businesses, community groups, individuals, schools and cultural organisations are encouraged to get involved by personalising, printing out and displaying their own poster. Posters are available for download in two formats (in Dutch): A4 portrait and A4 landscape.

All city districts have organised events (in Dutch) during the campaign week to put discrimination under the spotlight and open and encourage discussion:
