24 hours with the I amsterdam City Card

You’ll be surprised how much of Amsterdam you can see in just 24 hours. So arm yourself with comfortable shoes, a good sense of adventure and ofcourse the I amsterdam City Card. Here’s a selection of tips for what to see and do in one day in Amsterdam.
 
Start the day early and make sure you’ve had a good breakfast, as today will be a tough one. However Amsterdam is small, the best way to move around is by foot. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. 

Day 1

10.00 am. With a good breakfast in your belly, head to the Museum square where you can start off with a visit to the Van Gogh Museum. Here you can see the paintings of the Dutch Master Vincent van Gogh.

12:00 noon.
While you’re at the Museum Square, you might as well pay a visit to the Stedelijk Museum with its dedication to modern contemporary art and design. 

3:00 pm.

4:30 pm

6:30 pm.
Now that you’ve fed both your body and your mind, you can put yourself at ease and lessen your thirst. So now’s the time to find a local bar for some liquid refreshment. Check the I amsterdam City Card map to find great spots that offer 25-50% discounts.  
 
8:00 pm. For tonight’s dinner, there are plenty of good choices. Make sure you book your table in advance as restaurants might be busy. 

10:00 pm.

48 hours with the I amsterdam City Card

A 48-hour trip to Amsterdam provides sufficient time to visit the city’s best-known sights as well as explore some lesser-known treasures. Below is a suggested itinerary for getting the most out of your second day in Amsterdam.

Day 2

10.00 am. On this second day you can take it a little easier. A person can only take so much art, so today you can focus on the other side Amsterdam has to offer. Head after breakfast to the North side of the IJ-River to explore the Noordelijke IJ-Oever. Pay a visit to the stunning EYE Filmmuseum and explore one of its temporarily exhibitions. 
 
12.00 noon. Visit the old National Maritime Museum located in the former national naval warehouse.

3:00 pm.
Take the tram to the Plantage neighbourhood and soak up the energy in Artis Royal Zoo.  

5.30 pm.
Less art today, but all that wandering around is thirsty work. Take some time for a drink and don’t forget to enjoy all these adventures.

72 hours with the I amsterdam City Card
