Taste of Amsterdam

Taste of Amsterdam
The annual Taste of Amsterdam, held 22-25 September, serves up the best of Amsterdam's culinary delights, specialty food stuffs and fine wines all in one place.

For the third time this year, Taste of Amsterdam strikes down on idyllic Amstelpark, attracting the city's foodies and connoisseurs with its white tents, summery vibes and, most importantly, its host of delicacies, provided by a range of Amsterdam's top restaurants and delivered in handy sample sizes (so you can fit more in your belly).

Taste of Amsterdam is a celebration of the finest cuisine the capital has to offer. Mingle with top chefs as you sample signature dishes from 9 prestigious restaurants, including MOMO, the Hotel De L'Europe's Hoofdstad Brasserie, Toscanini, Blauw and the new kid on the block: the Mint Hotel. Improve your culinary skills and discover a stunning selection of fine wines and specialty food and drink.

The previous two editions of Taste took place at the start of the summer but this year, Taste moves to 22-25 September in order to end the summer with a culinary climax. Featuring four days of summer eating, drinking and entertainment; Taste turns Amsterdam into foodie heaven with a host of restaurants and chefs dishing up an unbeatable alfresco gourmet feast.

This year, there will be three special spots to look out for in particular:

At the Wine Theatre, visitors can find out everything they need to know about wine, guided by an expert. Learn where the wine is grown and with which food to match it and sample a range of Old and New World wines.

Experience a wide selection of specialty beers from around the world at the Beer Theatre, which has producers from countries including England, the USA and the Netherlands showcase their finest beers. Plus there'll be workshops on subjects such as matching beer with your favourite dishes, pairing it with cheese and chocolate or 'After dinner beer: a goodbye of the Small Glass'.

Last but not least, visitors can finally get a step closer to the action and strive to learn from the best, as world-class chefs cook live on stage at the Cooking Theatre.

Add to those features the Foodie Market, the Small Producers Market, the St Pellegrino Water Bar and the Taste Cooking School (which offers a large variety of workshops) and it becomes clear that Taste of Amsterdam should satiate even the most dedicated foodie's appetite.
