International start-ups in Amsterdam

Under the scheme for start-ups, new international start-ups launching in the Netherlands will be offered the necessary support to develop into a mature enterprise. This scenario is not only beneficial for the entrepreneur but also creates a solid foundation for job creation and economic growth in the Netherlands, as entrepreneurship remains one of the driving forces of the Dutch economy.

How does it work? 

The scheme is aimed at ambitious entrepreneurs from outside of the European Union. The scheme’s associated residence permit entitles the applicant to be a resident of the Netherlands for one year. A prerequisite, however, is that the start-up must be guided by an experienced mentor that is based in the Netherlands. This means that within that year, the start-up entrepreneur can develop a sustainable a business based on an innovative product or service under the guidance of the experienced mentor.
