Launchpad Meetups

A Launchpad Meetup is a proven event format, designed to spark new collaborations around the innovation challenges of corporates. During a Launchpad Meetup, a corporate invites promising startups to their office to pitch a solution to a challenge and explore synergies. Successful editions have taken place with over 50 corporates, such as KLM, Philips, USG People, Accenture, Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, TomTom, ABN AMRO, Deloitte. After the first three series of Launchpad Meetups, 68% of participating startups had a follow-up meeting with the corporate. Launchpad Meetups allow startups to connect with a potential corporate customer at the right level, lay foundations for partnerships and grow their startup even faster.

Examples of collaborations that have come about as a result of the Meetups include Oracle exploring big data in retail with the help of startup 904Labs and EY’s work with startup Declaree to simplify the corporate’s declarations process with digitisation. The Launchpad Meetups have been established in co-operation with our partner TNW.

Corporate Partner Network

StartupAmsterdam unites Amsterdam’s corporates in a Corporate Partner Network (Measure 4) whereby the company supports the StartupAmsterdam action programme and – more importantly – acts as an acceleration partner to the startup ecosystem. By way of the network, corporates become embedded in the startup ecosystem and connect with one another to share experiences, best practices and opportunities for startup-corporate collaboration.

The Corporate Partner Network ensures that visibility is given to corporates that want to get in touch with startups to co-operate in various ways. StartupAmsterdam’s corporate partners are given a feature on the website to increase their visibility and accessibility to startup teams. Three events are hosted annually to bring the network together –  partners can connect and learn more about topics concerning startup-corporate collaboration. In addition, we introduce third parties which can support corporates in their startup collaborations.

The Corporate Partner Network aims to bridge the gap between Amsterdam’s most powerful corporates and the city’s innovative startups, making the most of the city’s technology scene as a natural testbed for innovation.
