Who’s going to pay for 3D movies and TV? How will online news evolve? Questions like these will be on everyone’s lips between 10-15 September, when Amsterdam’s RAI convention centre will host its annual International Broadcasting Convention and Exhibition for the electronic media industry.
The IBC is the leading international forum for the electronic media industry, attracting nearly 50,000 visitors and more than 1,300 exhibitors from more than 130 countries.
It combines a highly respected and peer reviewed conference, an exhibition that demonstrates state of the art media technology, and unrivalled networking opportunities for media professionals involved in content creation, management and delivery.
Visitors can expect to learn about the developments which are shaping the industry, interact with the latest technology, experience world first demonstrations and do business in a professional and supportive environment.
The convention is run by the industry, for the industry, with backing from six leading international bodies, representing both exhibitors and visitors. Their insights ensure that the annual convention remains a relevant, comprehensive and timely international forum for everyone involved in content creation, management and delivery.
This year, the IBC will feature a Dutch initiative to become the ‘Digital Gateway to Europe’. The Dutch Media Hub bundles the rich variety of the Dutch creative, media and facility companies, and will use the IBC as an opportunity to expand its international visibility.
The initiative, run by Stichting iMMovator, will emphasize the Netherlands’ central position in Europe, excellent fibre connections, Internet hosting and infrastructure, and stress how well developed, efficient and innovative Dutch media and ICT are.
It unites industry, government and knowledge institutes, with extensive company participation and support from local, regional and national governments, including amsterdam inbusiness partners Amsterdam and Almere.
During IBC 2009, the Dutch Media Hub will provide a ‘Matchmaking Session’ at which international media industry companies will have an opportunity to connect to the Hub and its partners during an exclusive networking event on Friday 11 September.
