Engel & Völkers, the leading real estate agency in Germany according to the country’s industry journal Immobilien Manager, has opened an office in the Amsterdam Area. Managing director Richard Winters made the announcement at October’s Expo Real in Munich.
The office will be headed by Menno Heineman and Erik Troost and opened on 1 October in Amsterdam.
According to Winters, the motivation for the international expansion is that the Engel & Völkers network has a strong base among smaller German institutional investors and wealthy individuals.
“We have a large position among medium-sized investors who will be hugely important in the future,” said Winters. “From that position we will expand our network. We already have large offices in France, Denmark and Switzerland, and now in Amsterdam too.”
