A new conference for Indian business people in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area took place on 29 October. Pioneered by amsterdam inbusiness, ‘Little India at the Zuidas’ was a great success.
Representatives from some 65 Indian companies were in attendance at Amsterdam Bright City, a meeting place for business people. It was the first time an event like this was held in the Zuidas; Amsterdam’s financial district and considered to be the heart of the Netherland’s financial industry. In a series of short presentations, several business and living facilities in the area were discussed.
Two of them in particular received positive reactions: Spaces, a new 7000 square meter business centre at the Zuidas, and New Amsterdam. The latter is a prestigious real estate project, offering luxurious executive apartments.
The Indian community is one of the fastest growing foreign business communities in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area and is of great importance to the local economy. Amsterdam inbusiness, the foreign investment agency of the AMA and primary organiser of the event, would like to foster awareness of this fact. Amsterdam Bright City, who co-organized the conference, suggested that similar events for other large foreign communities in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area would also be as much a success as this was. A spokesperson suggested a 'Little Tokyo' or 'Little New York' in the near future.
