FedEx Trade Networks, an international ocean and air freight forwarder, has opened its EMEA headquarters at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, part of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
The subsidiary of the global logistics company FedEx Corp announced last week that it has opened two European freight forwarding offices: in Paris, France and at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the Netherlands.
These openings mark the company’s first owned operations in Europe. The Netherlands office will serve as the FedEx Trade Networks headquarters for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA).
FedEx Trade Networks wants to strengthen its position in the growing Europe-Asia trade lane. By opening these new offices it claims to be able to provide customers with enhanced freight forwarding services between Europe, Asia and North America.
In total the company opened 14 new freight forwarding locations worldwide this year. A freight forwarder organises the shipment of merchandise for companies and provides additional services.
