Mayor Job Cohen was present as providers of affordable, flexible workspace Regus opened its new office in Amsterdam’s Canal Belt.
Continuing its policy of offering flexible office space in landmark buildings in great locations, Regus received the keys to its newest and most prestigious Amsterdam property on 9 May.
The historic 17th Century canal house on the Herengracht, with its original decorative interior intact and a gorgeous view, has 17 modern office suits with space for 1-7 desks, all fully furnished and equipped, available full or part time and in private or open plan style.
Mr Hans Wiegel, President of the outgoing tenants, the Federation of Dutch Brewers (CBK), handed the keys to Regus Benelux CEO Eduard Schaepman “with a tear in my eye,” he said.
Weigel then opened bottles of Dutch beer to toast the occasion, attended by Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen. “The concept is great and is a real asset for the city in these difficult financial times,” said Cohen.
With no furniture or IT / telecoms infrastructure capital costs, and all cleaning, reception, and maintenance costs in one monthly rental invoice (including shared office services and meeting rooms), Regus promises savings of 50-60% on office prices.
Crunch-busting flexibility allows easy expansion or downsizing as a business takes shape. Regus offices make an ideal staging post in a re-location; Google for example used the company when in Amsterdam researching longer term, larger offices for its new Netherlands operation.
Regus is the world’s largest provider of workplace solutions for every budget, type and size of business, with more than 1,000 locations in 400 cities spread across 70 countries. Agreements and contracts in one location can be transferred to any other, even if it’s just for a day of hot desking.
The prestigious Herengracht town house is the 11th Regus property in Amsterdam. “As a location for doing business or taking meetings, it is guaranteed to make an impression,” said Regus sales manager Jordy de Boer.
