Readers of the American magazine 'Executive Travel' have voted Amsterdam Airport Schiphol best international airport. The award looks at services and facilities and innovative solutions that airports and airlines offer their customers.
This is the second time for Schiphol to win the 'Leading Edge Award'. Conrad van Tiggelen and Birgitta Kroon-Fiorita of the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions accepted the award on behalf of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on 5 November in New York.
During the winter schedule, which runs from 26 October 2008 until 28 March 2009, eight airlines will operate services between the United States and Schiphol. These eight airlines are KLM, Northwest Airlines, Martinair, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways and OpenSkies. Together they operate about 32 flights a day to 17 destinations in the United States.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was recently awarded ‘Best Airport in Europe 2008’ by leading British magazine Business Traveller.
