Two airlines will strengthen the Europe-Asia trade route by adding weekly cargo flights from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the Netherlands to several destinations in Asia.
AirBridgeCargo has decided to extend its Amsterdam-Moscow cargo route to Tokyo, Japan. The weekly flight on Wednesdays will be operated using a B747-400 freighter. From Moscow, cargo shipments from Amsterdam can also be transferred to other destinations in Asia, including Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. The Russian cargo airline entered the scheduled cargo market in 2004 and currently operates 6 weekly flights at Schiphol.
Jade Cargo International has added a weekly Wednesday service from Yantai, China to Amsterdam. Schiphol welcomes this new destination to its network, as the Chinese hinterland is becoming more and more attractive for the cargo community. Jade connects Yantai and Amsterdam with direct flights.
The Chinese airline started its operations in 2004. It is a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines, the German Airline Lufthansa Cargo, and a German investment firm. The company's headquarters is located in Shenzhen, China, a fast-growing industrial hub in the Pearl River Delta of Guangdong province in China. The airline currently has around 390 employees.
