Amsterdam: the perfect match for CES

CES Unveiled Amsterdam is due to take place on 26 October 2017 at the iconic Beurs van Berlage. The event will serve as a preview for the main CES 2018 event, which takes place in Las Vegas from 9 to 12 January 2018.

Amsterdam was the obvious choice for CES Unveiled, given that the city’s startup and tech ecosystems are among the best in the world and its residents are the earliest adopters of new technology.

“From its smart city efforts to its economic policies, the Netherlands has created an environment that allows technology and innovation to thrive,” said Gary Shapiro, CTA’s president and CEO. “When hosting our CES Unveiled events abroad, we look for cities with the promise of innovation, and Amsterdam is the ideal location to provide a sneak peek into the cutting-edge and disruptive technologies that startups bring to the industry.”

An exciting programme

As the event’s name implies, CTA executives will unveil the latest CES – as well as a presentation on global market-research trends that directly relate to the tech that’ll be on show at CES 2018.

The event will see the Netherlands’ innovative startups, thriving ICT companies, influencers, key media figures all together at one conference. Of course, the exhibiting startups and tech companies will show off all their latest technology to key industry stakeholders from Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the UK, too.

“The Dutch embrace the transformative power of technology, we appreciate CTA’s commitment to innovation, specifically through their support of smart cities,” said Prince Constantijn, who leads StartupDelta.

An opportunity for startups

CES Unveiled is joining forces with StartupDelta to showcase some of the up-and-coming startups that will be attending CES 2018. Earlier this year, Prince Constantijn accompanied a group of startups to Texas for SXSW 2017, and he also led a delegation of 30 ambitious Dutch tech startups to CES 2017 in Las Vegas – the Holland Startup Pavilion. Next year, he hopes to bring even more startup exhibitors to CES, giving them the chance to network at the prestigious event, which – in turn – could help the startups secure capital.

“We look forward to hosting CES Unveiled Amsterdam this year. Our focus is on giving access to capital, talent and investors and paving the way for startups. We had a remarkable experience so far, but we believe the best is yet to come,” said Prince Constantijn.
