Amsterdam a “hotbed for engineers and developers”
Jaunt Inc., a leading producer and publisher of virtual reality experiences, announced on 25 July the opening of an engineering and development office in Amsterdam, which will further establish the company’s presence in Europe. The new office will also give Jaunt access to the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area’s highly skilled and diverse development community.
“The Netherlands is an ideal location to support our advanced development efforts,” said Arthur van Hoff, co-founder and interim CEO of Jaunt. “As a truly international city, Amsterdam is a hotbed for engineers and developers known for pushing the boundaries of technology.”
Boosting Amsterdam’s innovative ecosystem
Jaunt will be a boon to Amsterdam's vibrant tech scene, and the company will also benefit from the available VR talent located here. According to Constantijn van Oranje, the special envoy of the Dutch initiative StartupDelta, the presence of Jaunt “will boost Amsterdam's innovative tech ecosystem."
Jaunt will also have access to Amsterdam's rich pool of creative minds, from high-quality software engineers to VR developers, as well as a market that is eager to experiment and adopt new forms of content and services.
Their new office is located in the heart of the city, at the Marineterrein Amsterdam. This former Navy base is currently being transformed into a technology and creative centre.
Amsterdam a key part of Jaunt’s global expansion
Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Jaunt was founded in 2013, and develops hardware, software, and applications to enable cinematic VR. They work with brands, artists, and filmmakers to create cutting-edge VR content. With an existing European presence in London and the recent announcement of Shanghai-based Jaunt China, Jaunt continues to establish its global footprint to meet the growing global demand for VR content.
