The Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is located in six historic 17th- and 18th-century stately canal houses beside the Herengracht.

Amsterdam: a thriving tourist destination

In a press statement, Simon Vincent, area president at Hilton Worldwide, said: “With Europe’s fourth largest airport and nearly six million international visitors a year, Amsterdam is a thriving tourist destination. At Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, those travellers now have a world class luxury hotel to experience.” The hotel offers 93 guest rooms and suites, as well as various dining options and a bar located inside the former vault of a bank. Of course, the hotel also offers meeting facilities – with spectacular views over one of Amsterdam’s most famous canals, the Herengracht.

Hotspot for investors in the hotel industry

Hotel chains such as Hilton Worldwide’s Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts select Amsterdam as a location for new hotels on mainland Europe because of the many opportunities the city has to offer to international hotel developers. The demand for hotel rooms in Amsterdam in the coming years is expected to increase by an average of 4% per year. To meet this demand, the City of Amsterdam is working to add thousands of new hotel rooms by 2015.
