Amsterdam: gateway to Europe

Beijing Ultrapower Software Co. Ltd, a leading solution provider in China with more than 10 years of professional experience in telecommunications, internet software and mobile gaming services that is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZ:300002), has set up an office in Hoofddorp. This new base in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is the company’s first European office. From here Ultrapower aims to serve the entire European market and to grow further.

Amsterdam connects

Walter Qian, Regional Sales Director of Ultrapower Europe, has already started his work at the new office in Hoofddorp. In a statement made to amsterdam inbusiness, he explains why his company chose to set up in the Amsterdam Area: “In Europe we are looking for opportunities to connect to other gaming companies. Since all the international gaming companies are present in Amsterdam, our choice for Amsterdam was evident.”

Indeed, more than 50 gaming companies, such as Guerrilla Games, Vanguard Games, Little Chicken Game Company and Spel-Maker, are based in the Amsterdam Area. The majority of these companies produce various types of games targeting multiple platforms.

Creative hotspot Amsterdam

David Yu, corporate VP for Europe and CIS region, adds: “Amsterdam is connected very well to other European cities and China by Schiphol, which makes it convenient to do business. The creativity of Amsterdam attracts creative talents. We are searching for new opportunities to design and market games, to serve both the European and Chinese markets with the best of both worlds.”

Here Yu touches upon some of the main reasons why the Amsterdam Area is home to more than 2,500 international firms. With its central location and excellent physical and ICT infrastructure, the Amsterdam Area is a gateway to Europe and beyond. Over 40 weekly direct flights take off from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to seven Chinese destinations.

Chinese companies keen on the Amsterdam Area

Ultrapower joins more than 70 Chinese companies that have already found their way to the Amsterdam Area. To help accommodate Chinese organisations in the best way possible, amsterdam inbusiness hosts a dedicated Chinese-language website, which informs Chinese companies about the advantages of setting up business in the Amsterdam Area.
