Dutch dance delight, made in Amsterdam

SFX Entertainment is, by its own account, the largest global producer of live events and digital entertainment content that is focused exclusively on electronic music culture. SFX announced the news in a press release. The acquisition of Monumental Production follows SFX’s takeover of ID&T, another household name in the electronic music industry with its roots in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam, home of strong dance music brands

The double-takeover illustrates that Dutch dance producers set the tone in the electronic dance music industry. In the statement,  Robert FX Sillerman, chairman and CEO of SFX Entertainment, praises Rocco Veenboer, the founder of Monumental Production, stating: “Rocco and his team have built Awakenings into the strongest techno music event brand in Amsterdam, if not all of Europe. We look forward to sharing the unique Awakenings experience with new fans in locales across the globe.”

A dance music leader

Dance music plays a prominent role in Amsterdam, both culturally and in a business sense. The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) exemplifies this as it brings together both worlds: the week-long festival is the world's biggest club festival and Europe's leading electronic music conference at the same time, acting as a gateway to the international electronic music scene. ADE offers a wide variety of conferences dedicated to specific groups and subjects. They provide a platform for critical dialogue and debate while allowing for the chance to network, exchange expertise and keep on top of all the latest developments in the electronic music field.
