The news was announced by the University of Amsterdam and picked up by several tech blogs. Euvision was established to market scientific ideas developed at the UvA’s Informatics Institute. With the Amsterdam-based startup, Qualcomm acquires state-of-the-art technology in the field of image recognition, which is sure to provide interesting business opportunities.

Euvision was one of many promising startups in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. The fact that Amsterdam is a vibrant startup hub for tech companies was also picked up by Wired UK: in its August 2014 issue, the magazine includes Amsterdam in its list of the main digital capitals in the world.
In the article, Reinout te Brake, founding partner of the GameOn fund, praises Amsterdam’s position as a gateway to Europe and calls it a perfect ‘launch pad’ for startups.
