Amsterdam, a world-renowned hotspot for the creative sector
From February 2016 onwards, a selected group of talented digital designers will have the opportunity to learn from the best and brightest mentors in the world. The programme in digital design is being developed in a unique collaboration between industry partners and the AUAS. The agencies involved in the development of the new study programme are Achtung!, DDB & Tribal Amsterdam, FHV BBDO, Fabrique, MediaMonks, Mirabeau, Momkai, Tam Tam and Woedend!. All of them have close ties with Amsterdam, which reflects the city’s position as a world-renowned hotspot for the creative sector. Numerous creative masterminds are based in Amsterdam and are regularly behind award-winning digital campaigns for clients from all over the world.
Digital design made in Amsterdam
“Digital design goes beyond merely designing websites. Digital designers also create new toilets that save lives and denim from plastic that has ended up in the oceans,” comments Jeroen van Erp, director of Fabrique, in a release. Victor Knaap, director of MediaMonks, adds: “We, as digital agencies, are very happy that the long-held need for a master programme in digital design is being met.” Geleyn Meijer, who leads Digital Media and Creative Industries at AUAS, says: “Dutch design is making headlines around the world. This master programme will be a new impetus for digital design made in the Netherlands.” Pilot modules of the new master in digital design will be offered from September 2015. Some 25 talented students are expected to participate.
