Attractive for foreign investment
The positive results of the EIU research (commissioned by international law firm Clifford Chance) illustrate that the Netherlands remains an attractive destination for foreign investment. Recent research published by consultancy firm Ernst & Young showed that 161 foreign companies invested in the Netherlands in 2012.
Within the Netherlands, most foreign organisations choose to set up and expand in the Amsterdam Area. According to Ernst & Young’s Investment Barometer report, more than a third of all foreign companies that come to the Netherlands choose to set up shop in Amsterdam. In the past year, 126 new international companies established offices in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
