Beginning on 27 March 27, 2016, Jet Airways will operate two daily non-stop flights to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, one from Mumbai and one from New Delhi. Jet Airways will also operate a daily flight from Toronto to Amsterdam.
The new codeshare partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Delta Air Lines will significantly enhance connectivity between India, Europe, and North America.
Key connecting destinations via Amsterdam will include New York JFK, Newark, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles in the United States, Vancouver and Montreal in Canada, and Brussels, Berlin, Copenhagen, Munich, Madrid, Geneva, and Vienna in Europe.
A significant step for Jet Airways, and for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
As Jet Airways said in a press release, “Amsterdam is one of the great cities of the world and has emerged as a top financial centre and tourism destination in Europe. India’s trade relations with the Netherlands go back over 400 years and have continued to prosper in the modern age.”
Mentioning Schiphol's position “as one of the largest gateways in Europe with seamless connectivity to sea, rail and road transportation,” Jet Airways’ CEO Cramer Ball said that the two daily flights from India to Amsterdam “will facilitate further growth in business and tourism between India and the Netherlands.”
“With Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as the new European gateway,” he added, “we will be able to provide our guests with one stop access to a wider array of destinations.”
As the President and CEO of KLM Pieter Elbers said, this strategic step will “provide KLM customers with exclusive travel opportunities and additional interesting new destinations. We will strengthen our presence in the Indian domestic region and their neighbourhood.”
Jet Airways is India’s leading international airline, operating flights to 73 destinations. Beyond India, Jet Airways operates flights to key international destinations in South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Europe and North America.
