This year TEDxAmsterdam 2013 was held at Amsterdam’s iconic Royal Concertgebouw in a localised and scaled down version of the annual TED conference. A record 1,000 attendees were present at TEDXAmsterdam. Live attendance of the event was only possible for those who received an invitation, but the entire event was streamed on the internet so people worldwide could watch the famous Ted Talks.
TED is an annual event that draws upon many of the world's leading thinkers and doers to share what they are most passionate about. TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is comprised of the three broad subject areas that not only give the event its name, but that collectively shape our future.
TEDxAmsterdam is an independently organised event that includes TED Talks, video and live speakers. Over the last five years, the event has grown to be one of the most influential gatherings for people to get inspired.
