Chinese interest in Dutch real estate

The 10th edition of PROVADA took place from 3 to 5 June in the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition & Convention Centre. Acknowledging the increasing international attention for Dutch real estate, the convention hosted an international day intended for investors from around the world this year. Reporting on PROVADA, the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf stressed the considerable Chinese delegation that was expected to visit the convention.

International attendance

However, visitors from over 20 different countries were expected at the real estate convention. In a press release, PROVADA’s managing director Peter Schreuter comments: “We see growing interest from international investors – from China, Taiwan and Korea – and over 20 countries will be represented.”

Amsterdam’s attractive real estate market

The British Financial Times reported on the growing trend of international investors looking at Dutch real estate in 2013. The newspaper noted that the conditions in Amsterdam are perfect for international cash buyers of Amsterdam properties: real estate is competitively priced at the moment, and the city hasn’t lost its charm for either tourists or international businesses.
