Talented and educated workforce attracts international companies
The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced the news in a statement (in Dutch) citing the talented and highly educated workforce as a top reason for international companies to invest in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area attracts the most foreign investments within the Netherlands. Over the past year, 126 new international companies set up shop in the Amsterdam Area, joining over 2,000 existing international firms operating in this region.
Amsterdam attracts international companies through neutrality
The Amsterdam Area continues to attract international companies, such as the newly merged advertising giant Publicis Omnicom, which will be headquartered in Amsterdam. The company reasoned that it considers Amsterdam to be 'neutral territory'. This fortifies the notion that the Dutch have a relatively neutral political position, allowing Amsterdam-based agencies to easily work with international clients.
