From its new base, the company will provide real-time support to the many Chartboost developers that are based in Europe.

First European office

The company announced the news of its European expansion in a press statement, noting that some of its more renowned clients include: Danish developer Kiloo, the UK-based King and Natural Motion, Outfit7 from Slovenia, Wooga from Germany, and Finland’s Supercell. Maria Alegre, co-founder and CEO of Chartboost added: “We have always admired European developers and find their creativity and leadership inspiring. We are excited to now be even closer to that thriving game ecosystem.”

Amsterdam: a growing player in the gaming industry

The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is currently home to more than 50 gaming companies, including Vanguard Games, Little Chicken Game Company and Spel-Maker. Most of the gaming companies in the region produce several types of games, targeting multiple platforms. Thanks to the strong creative industry and well-developed ICT infrastructure of the Amsterdam Area, the sector is continually growing.

In terms of consumer spending, the Dutch gaming market was estimated at 626 million euros in 2010 and is expected to reach 805 million euros in 2013. From this total, social, mobile and portal gaming makes up 189 million euros. Approximately 160 companies are active in the Dutch gaming sector, employing more than 2,500 full-time employees.
