Dedicated to Dutch artist Joep van Lieshout, the art’otel in Amsterdam is the first of a new generation of art’otels with enhanced services and amenities.
The upscale lifestyle hotel features 107 rooms, including four large and luxurious suites and a gallery including original works from Atelier Van Lieshout. Located directly opposite Amsterdam Central Station, the hotel is easily accessible by public transport and within walking distance of the main attractions such as the Royal Palace and Dam Square.
A unique feature of the hotel is the 300-square metre art gallery and multi-purpose exhibition space inhabiting the basement (which is accessible from the street). This feature illustrates that the art’otel Amsterdam is designed to attract the local arts crowd as much as leisure travellers.
The art’otel is not the only new hotel in Amsterdam designed to offer guests a more unique experience. On the other side of Amsterdam Central Station, the Overhoeks Tower is being transformed into an eye-catching cultural hub. It will house the headquarters of event specialist ID&T, a hotel, restaurants and a nightclub.
On the NDSM terrain in Amsterdam North, tourists and business visitors to Amsterdam who enjoy creative accommodation can soon look forward to the Faralda NDSM Crane Hotel, located at the top of a former industrial crane in one of the city’s most creative neighbourhoods.
