Companies with good plans for projects that contribute to a sustainable development of the Port of Amsterdam can apply for a subsidy from a special fund for sustainable development.
One million euros is available for projects and research in 2010 for companies undertaking sustainable development in and around the Port of Amsterdam. The tender period runs from 1 April until 31 May.
In 2020, Amsterdam aims to be home to one of the most sustainable ports in Europe. To accomplish this goal, public and private organisations will need to work together. The subsidy is designed to encourage companies to get involved in projects for the sustainable development of the Port of Amsterdam. The maximum duration of a project is two years.
Dertje Meijer, director of the Port of Amsterdam comments: "Sustainable development means working more effectively and more inventively. I am counting on surprising and interesting renewable-themed applications for the subsidy".
More information on the tender can be read on the website of the Port of Amsterdam.
