The City of Amsterdam and Mitsubishi have joined forces to stimulate electric transportation in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
At the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre, the City of Amsterdam and Mitsubishi announced that both parties aim to further stimulate the use of electric vehicles in the city.
Amsterdam has ambitious environmental targets and plans to have 10,000 electric vehicles in the city by 2015. There are currently 100 publicly accessible charging points, making Amsterdam one of Europe’s trendsetters in the introduction of electric mobility.
Additional, economical electric vehicles will be available in Amsterdam in the near future. Several car manufacturers will sell 100%, zero emission electric cars, such as the Nissan Leaf, Peugeot iOn and GM’s Opel Ampera, to the public shortly.
Amsterdam is serious about sustainability and is also collaborating with Renault and Nissan to introduce electric vehicles to the capital.
