A survey carried out by the Dutch-German Chamber of Commerce (DNHK) reveals that German companies with operations in the Netherlands are optimistic: 49% of them would like to expand this year. German companies are also positive about the investment climate in the Netherlands.
"The positive assessment confirms that the Netherlands is currently very attractive for foreign companies,” says Axel Gerberding, director of the DNHK. "Because of the economic recovery, various industries are once again making investments in neighbouring markets top priority."
German companies rate the overall investment climate in the Netherlands with an average of 3.3 out of 5. The tax environment (3.9) and so-called 'soft factors' (3.9), which refer mainly to the quality of life in the Netherlands, are considered the most attractive features by German entrepreneurs.
The enthusiasm of German entrepreneurs is supported by facts. International companies settling in the Netherlands enjoy various financial benefits including a very competitive corporate tax rate and an advance ruling practice.
