Pilot Freight Services, an American provider of transportation and logistics services, has opened a station in Amsterdam. This new station is Pilot Freight Services’ first company owned station in Europe.
According to a company press release the Amsterdam station offers a full suite of transportation and logistics services, including air, ocean, ground and logistics capabilities. “Amsterdam was a logical choice for our first European station,” said Gordon Branov, executive vice president of Pilot Freight Services. “Strategically, it’s a great location to access major European and Asian markets. The Schiphol airport and the Port of Rotterdam, are among the largest cargo airports and ocean ports in the world, respectively.”
This statement illustrates that the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is the undisputed gateway to Europe and beyond. The region has always been a major transit hub for people, goods, capital and services to and from the 350 million potential customers of the European continent.
