Recently, Terremark, a global supplier of IT infrastructure services, selected Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as the location for its new data centre. This event triggered business newspaper Wall Street Journal to praise Amsterdam Schiphol Airport’s city in an article.
When announcing the establishment of the new data centre in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, Manuel D. Medina, CEO of Terremark Worldwide Inc. said: "Schiphol is a major European hub and a very strategic and strong business location, with an extensive network of destinations. We're delighted to be able to further expand our IT activities at this hub, close to our customers in the Netherlands and other European countries".
In the article titled “Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport City Takes Off”, the Wall Street Journal explains why Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport City is emerging as one of the leading airport cities around the world. Sven Bertens, an Amsterdam-based researcher with Jones Lang LaSalle is quoted in the article as saying “Companies pick Schiphol over other airport cities such as Paris, Frankfurt or Heathrow, in part because of favourable Dutch tax laws.”
The Amsterdam Area offers international companies all the ingredients for a profitable business case:
