Turning Technologies, an American firm active in the audience response industry, has announced that it has selected Amsterdam as the location for its new European headquarters.
Turning Technologies is a leading provider of audience response systems worldwide. The company's response solutions create engaging, interactive presentations in any environment.
The CEO of Turning Technologies, Mike Broderick and Brad Gant, Vice President of International Sales and Distribution, spoke about the international expansion in a press conference on 4 August 2010.
"I will be relocating to Amsterdam later this week to open our new international office. This is a first, direct step into the international market which should provide for tremendous growth," said Gant during the press conference.
From its new Amsterdam base, the company aims to penetrate the European market. “We opted for Amsterdam because of the friendly business climate,” said Gant to the Dutch newspaper, Het Parool.
“The facility costs are very competitive and the fiscal benefits are superior to most other European cities,” he added.
The fiscal advantages of setting up shop in the Netherlands are indeed superior to those of most other European countries. Companies established in the Netherlands profit from various tax advantages including:
A competitive 20% corporate income tax rate on the first 200,000 euros of taxable profit and 25.5% on the excess over that amount.
A 30% ruling for expats: tax-free reimbursement of 30% of an employee’s salary, provided that the employee has been recruited or assigned from abroad and has specific skills which are scarce in the current Dutch labour market.
Huge talent pool
Brad Gant also praises the availability of qualified staff in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Turning Technologies expects to hire about eight new staff members for its Amsterdam office. Over the next few years, the firm intends to expand their business and personnel.
