ReachLocal, an American provider of online marketing solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), opened a sales office and European headquarters in Amsterdam. The official opening took place on 10 November 2011.
“The Netherlands ranks as one of the highest digitally connected countries in the world yet the complexity of online advertising has been a barrier for local businesses. We are excited to bring marketing solutions and help MKBs drive business through their online efforts with our first Dutch office in Amsterdam,” said John Mazur, CEO of ReachLocal Europe, in a statement issued by the company. “Furthermore, the launch of a European Headquarters and service centre in Amsterdam is a milestone in our expansion plans for Europe and is in line with our strategy to scale ReachLocal’s international operations.”
ReachLocal’s choice to expand business in Europe from Amsterdam makes sense. With a GDP per capita among the highest in the world and excellent international trade routes providing access to Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and beyond, the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area lets you tap into the most attractive worldwide customer markets. Strategic location and excellent (digital) infrastructure are only two characteristics contributing to the attractiveness of the area.
ReachLocal was named Google AdWords Premier SMB partner, meaning that the company meets Google’s highest standards of excellence.
“There is a significant market opportunity in the Netherlands as SMEs look for new and innovative ways to reach customers through the Internet,” said Dirk Bavelaar, country director for Amsterdam’s ReachLocal branch. “The Internet is becoming increasingly fragmented, making it more difficult for local businesses to get in front of the right consumers. ReachLocal is here to educate SMEs and help them seamlessly transition from offline to online marketing.”
