Indian IT firm Omnitech InfoSolutions announced in a press release on 6 January that it has acquired Dutch IT firm Avensus for almost 7 million euros.
The acquisition will give Omnitech access to more than 100 existing Avensus customers and allow it to cross sell services such as remote infrastructure management, application management, performance management and domain-specific services.
Omnitech InfoSolution’s managing director and CEO, Atul Hemani, said, "With the acquisition of Avensus, Omnitech will further strengthen its presence in the European market. This platform will also be of great help to launch our innovative services-based cloud computing and domain-specific services."
Avensus is a Dutch firm with its headquarters in Almere (part of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area). It also has an office in Delft. Omnitech is well positioned to increase its European market share.
The Amsterdam Area is known for its excellent infrastructure and there are major port complexes within a 50 km radius. The region also offers international rail links and close proximity to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
AMS-IX is the largest data transport hub in the world and the most stable digital exchange platform. It is also known for its superior quality and low cost.
Due to the many advantages of setting up shop in the Amsterdam Area, the region has acted as a magnet for Indian ICT firms. The Indian community is the fastest growing foreign business community in the region and Indian companies such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys Technology Limited have set up European and Benelux head offices in the Amsterdam Area.
Omnitech is a global IT solutions and services provider company in the areas of business availability, business continuity and business enhancement services. Emerging as a pioneer in business continuity services, Omnitech introduced the first of its kind disaster recovery centre in India which meets all global standards, thereby demonstrating both its knowledge of technology and implementation skills.
